What a week…

Shortly after Dave’s surgery (Monday night), I started to run a fever.  Turns out I have Dengue fever.  Turns out, Dave, who asked for a Dengue blood test before his surgery, has it too.  The good news is Dave has almost no symptoms.  I have been achey and feverish and basically useless and sick all week.  Dave managed to get himself released from the hospital early because he was worried about all of us at home.

It’s been a long haul and it’s hard not to feel very homesick when everyone’s been sick.  But, it’s bound to look up soon!  Today is the first day all week I didn’t wake up with a fever.  And, that’s good b/c most people can be down with Dengue for two weeks.

Here’s a picture of Ben’s kindergarten class – follow the link:

  1. What a cute class – I love when you run over the photo with the mouse the funny faces photo!
So sorry you are sick – Dengue is so nasty! I wish I was there to help you!

  2. Oh man, I can’t believe you both came down with Dengue. It doesn’t sound like fun. Hope the kids have been taking it easy on you. There is nothing worse than needy kids when you feel like death. Singapore is really putting you guys through some tests. Fight back team Mak!!!

  3. Please know that we are all routing for you, I can’t imagine what you guys are going thru, but we hope that the worst is behind you and its all good from here! If you can think of anything we can do to put a smile on your face, let us know.

  4. Wow. First Dave’s surgery and now dengue fever? I’m so sorry–but hope all is turning up for the better for you guys. When you’re all feeling better, treat yourselves to some Pizza Hut or other American gross food just because it will taste like home! 🙂 Keep your chin up and give those f$*cking mosquitoes a run for their money! Things will continue to adjust toward the better and best for you all!

I love Ben’s class photo! His teacher looks like a lot of fun! Anyone who can make a silly face along with the kids is great in my book!
