After a lot of traveling, we’re here at my Dad and Andrea’s home. I have more pictures that I will post, but it’s just good to be here and settling in for a week.
We met Team Knox (our neighbors, Australian traveling mates, and all ’round best buds) at the Statue of Liberty! The day started off cloudy and threatening rain but that didn’t dampen our enthusiasm for seeing our Singapore friends from New Jersey.
The day cleared up and we got some spectacular views:
It’s quiet an amazing feat to visit the Statue of Liberty these days. The security is strict after 9/11. And, the Statue is showing her age – only a select few can climb up into the body and then crown of the statue. We didn’t have those special tickets, but we sure enjoyed the climb to the base and walking all around.
Another great highlight was seeing a lot of family! Always fun!
Finally, I don’t know what was our next favorite…shooting off the rockets? The Creamery? Dinner at Down the Hatch? Seeing all the pets? The fresh blueberries and fresh veggies? Don’t know – it was all so great!
Here’s a pictrue of the rocket:
